I would like to remove the paint with as little as possible harmful chemical involved. And we try to avoid the option of replacing the whole drywall.
Please help. Thanks. How to remove paint from drywall?
You can't remove paint from drywall. All you can do is to paint over it with a good primer, and then a low-odor paint, or replace the drywall altogether. Sorry I couldn't give you a better way.How to remove paint from drywall?
There's no way to remove the paint from the drywall without damaging the paper covering the drywall. Unless you had 10-15 coats of paint already on the wall when you put that one on then you could lightly sand it off. Since that's probably not the case you need to get a primer/sealer that they use on houses that have been on fire. That would seal it and there should be no way for the fumes to come through since it seals burnt wood. You can always put a spoonful of vanilla extract in the paint to soften the smell.
Can't be done without destroying the sheetrock. Although there may be an odor, I doubt that any gas or chemicals remain in the air. You may be best served by occupying the room part time. Most time the scent of just using the room will dissipate the odor. Did you ever walk through a newly built house with out furniture? It smells like fresh paint! Once you move in the scent will disappear
Can't be done.Primer and repaint with a different brand is all you can.
how big is this room? Time to buy some new gypsum board.
