So far, no luck with the typical wallpaper methods. The adhesive seems bonded to the paint and either will not budge or takes the drywall paper too. I am hoping that there is a usable solvent to deal with the PEEL-N-STICK adhesive.Trying to remove ';PEEL-N-STICK'; wallpaper from latex painted drywall. Are there any solvents that work?
If it's sticking that well, why try to remove it?
Unless it is a shelf-paper type glossy surface, you should be able to scuff it up using sandpaper, cover it with an oil-base primer and paint over it. You may need to use a bit of putty to hide the seams, but - in most cases - although it's not the best, it is possible to paint over something that is adhering that well.Trying to remove ';PEEL-N-STICK'; wallpaper from latex painted drywall. go to your rent-a-center get a professorial steamer and some good putty knives it takes time but it will come off
Grab a blow dryer and apply it to the wall paper, enough to soften the adhesive a little bit. Then in a spray bottle dilute GOO-GONE with water. Could get a little messy but it worked for me. You could find GOO-GONE at any grocery store or hardware store.
