Paint or drywall over panels?

Should I paint over wood panelling or should I just drywall over it?Paint or drywall over panels?
It really depends on what you can afford. Drywalling it will cost you more money but in the long run will look much better and add value to your home. If you want to paint over wood paneling then keep in mind that even if you do it correctly eventually the paint will chip off from normal wear and tear thus requiring continual maintenance. Drywall is easier to touch up and repair. If it was my decision to make. I would just remove the old paneling and drywall everything. I think that would be the best solution.Paint or drywall over panels?
i helped a friend hang drywall over hers.. all of the plugs and switches had to be adjusted because we added 1/2'; to the wall... so the were sunk in. if you remove the paneling first you will not have to adjust the wall sockets and switches. there should be enough play in the screws to fit to the drywall. if you paint it you will always see the old paneling in your mind...at least i would ...
i would paint.i did mine i put mud in between the lines to make it one smooth surface then i sanded lightly then i primed then i painted over looks like a regular wall.
