What is the best way to hang a framed photograph or painting on drywall?

Go to the hardware store look in the picture mounting section they have an assortment of brackets they sell for all types of applications weights %26amp; sizes without damaging the drywall or having to put it in a stud.....What is the best way to hang a framed photograph or painting on drywall?
I've never had any success using nails in drywall. I always use a screw. If the spot you choose has a stud behind it, then great, but how often is that going to happen? The best way to hang a medium size to large painting would be using a plastic wall-anchor. Drill a hole almost exactly the same size and then pound it in with a rubber mallet. Then you can put your screw into that. If you have a very large painting or a wide one, you need to use two, and use what is called a keyhole hanger on the back of the painting instead of wire or a sawtooth hanger. Drilling through drywall is a piece of cake, just measure carefully. If you make a mistake, fill the hole with drywall putty. :-)What is the best way to hang a framed photograph or painting on drywall?
use a drywall anchor that is rated for more than what your piece actually weighs. I keep 50# anchors~ they've always worked well. U can find them at the local hardware store and you tap them into the wall then put your screw in them
There are hangers designed for that purpose. They consist of a bracket and a stout nail held at an ideal angle for supporting the weight of the picture or photograph. They work well in drywall only, even it no stud is available. They are designed to carry specific weights depending on your need. If your project is heavy more than one can be used in combination.
It really depends on the weight. If light-weight I just use T-pins as they leave such a small hole! Works great.
I was a picture framer for 16 years. Use these ( http://www.artright.com/images/tools-acc鈥?/a> ) hangers for drywall. The nail goes in at a 45 degree angle and wont' pull out of the wall. If it is a horizontal picture use 2 spaced a bit apart and it will not tip from side to side. If your picture is too heavy for these hangers it should not have wire on it to begin with and would come with a different type of hardware. You can purchase them at any craft or hardware store. Your local frame shop should be happy to give you one or two for free or at a very cheap price. :)
Use a stud to anchor the nail in place. Drywall crumbles so easy, so if you just try using a nail alone, the weight from the picture will eventually drag the nail down, ripping through the wall and the pic. will fall.
If you can't use a stud, then I would suggest using a drywall plug into which you can drive a screw and then hang your picture from that.
