Can you paint the concrte blockwalls in the basement, instead of finishing with drywall?

Use a product called Drylok, Home Depot sells it or visit their website. The stuff is like a thick paint with the added benefit of sealing out moisture penetration. It can be tinted as well. Can you paint the concrte blockwalls in the basement, instead of finishing with drywall?
I did use the Drylok and it covered great. This year I painted with regular latex in another color and it looks great not tacky. I initially painted with Drylok 8 years ago and there was not any paint chipping during all that time..Can you paint the concrte blockwalls in the basement, instead of finishing with drywall?
Yes, make sure that if there is any mildew or dampness that you wash the walls down with bleach and allow the walls to dry. Then paint with a mold resistant paint. You can get this paint in a variety of colors.
yes, but in needs to be dry
Sure if you want it to look tacky
yes use drylok it will help seal the wall and keep moisture out
Dry lock is a good product, also use it on the out side outside of your house along the foundation.Another option for the basement walls is concrete stain,Behr makes a wide variety of colors and it looks real nice, but rustic.Be sure to clean your walls first, power wash;hand wash or chemicals.Prepare to get wet! Also might think about driveway paint. All of these options lack a wide variety of colors though.Good Luck
