How can I paint a brick pattern on drywall?

Paint the wall the color of ';mortar'; then using a sponge cut the size of the ';bricks'; that you want to imitate, dip it into a brick colored paint, dab off the extra paint and sponge paint the ';bricks'; onto your wall. I would mark the wall, first row at least, with a pencil or chalk like to make sure your rows start out evenly. To make half bricks at the beginning of every other row, cut 2 sponges the same shape/size as your brick then cut one in half.

Good luck and have fun, it sounds like an interesting project. How can I paint a brick pattern on drywall?
i like all of the tips posted so far, especially about painting the mortar color on first, but i would then use the blue masking tape that is made to release easily to make the grid pattern, then sponge on the colors and remove the tape the next day.How can I paint a brick pattern on drywall?
We did this at a theater I worked in and it looks great. First paint the wall the color of the mortar between the bricks and let it dry. Next get a roller pan and a 3'; roller. Find a brick that you like and take it to the paint store and match 3 colors of paint to your brick. Pour a little of each color into the roller pan ,get alittle of each color on your roller and roll little sections the length of your brick with about a half inch gap between them. It helps to pop a ckalk line to get the first row straight. Use blue chalk. I t will wipe off when you're done
Buy a product called ';ez brick'; its real bricks just about an inch thick so they can be hung on drywall then ya' have a real brick wall ....sorta
get a stencil and blend your colors get a real brick to get the idea you want good luck
