How many coats of paint do you put on new drywall?

New drywall, with a high quality primer. The paint is a white semi-gloss. The primer and first coat look great.. is there any need to add a second coat if I already have good coverage. How many coats of paint do you put on new drywall?
nope. If you used high quality paint, one coat is all you need for that color. How many coats of paint do you put on new drywall?
if spraying one coat should do it , but if brush and rolling it then u may need the 2 coats...depends if the paint has color....use a lint free roller with that gloss paint...simi- gloss is only used in the kitchen and bath areas
Hi Joe,

Hope this will give you a little more information [see link].

O.D.
I always put at least two coats, even if it looks like it doesn't need it. I've found that it gives the paint a more even look and better tones.
Let it dry all the way. If it seems like there's good enough coverage, then no.
With a good primer and good coverage first time one coat is all you need. Good Luck
No need at all. : )
