there are many texture additives most paint stores carry that will give better results. if you just want the appearance of thick paint you should add a 'line thickener' instead. Can you mix paint in with drywall compound and then roll on wall with heavy matted roller?
shore nuff you can.but you can pick up a nylon roller cover made for that try it on a piece of wood or cardboard till you get your texture right then go for it roll the same everywhere(LEFT RIGHT UP DOWN)in 3x3 or 4 ft sections to keep the same pattern and good coverage or you will have thin spots and heavy spots and i usually dont stop because tomarrow you r pattern will be different...laterCan you mix paint in with drywall compound and then roll on wall with heavy matted roller?
You could try.If your wanting a plaster effect you can also buy a paint which has that effect. Here in NZ it comes under the Resene brand. You do have to take care putting it on.
Only if you want a ';crackle finish'; in about a week. If you want texture, buy texture paint.
Sometimes drywall compound cracks. I would try it on a small space and see how it works.
