Should I put drywall mud in house paint when painting the inside walls?

I have been told I should do this instead of using filler on the sheetrock. If this is true, how much mud? I have only spray painted and painted a metal door with a brush. All helpful information would be GREATLY appreciated.sShould I put drywall mud in house paint when painting the inside walls?
I would never suggest doing such a thing.....but I gotta ask....did you redrywall your house or something....did they mud the walls and then sand them down or are you just repainting?

If you are just repainting them....get rollers...and roll on the paint...otherwise you need to finish the drywall with joint compound to fill in the seams where the sheets of drywall meet . Then you will need to sand them down before you are ready to paint. Any other needed assistance just askShould I put drywall mud in house paint when painting the inside walls?
Use drywall mud as a texture base. Use your hand, use a sponge, a rag.an old cotton glove, be creative. You could use a large putty knife to knock down the high points, run your fingers through again ....anything that will create texture. If you don't like what you've done ,scrape it off and start a new pattern or idea. Drywall mud does not need to totaly cover every spot because when you discover a pattern you like you use a thick knaped roller for the primer and paint. If your going to mix anything together you might add some of the finished paint to the first coat of primer. Then the final one coat painting will cover alot easier.
