I would also remove the drywall if you have mold. If you have mold on the drywall you might have mold behind it also. You will have to find the source of the mold. Fix the problem then dry out the area. (like with fans) If you have mold on the studs behind the drywall I would vaccum it off then wash it down with bleach water then sand the wood then prime it. Mold grows very fast you will want to stop it from spreading. What is the best and fastest way to remove paint from drywall?
If it's got mold, I'd tear it all out and start over with new drywall. It's not that hard to do and won't take any longer. Also, it'll give you a chance to see all the plumbing and wiring behind the walls and see if there's anything amiss back in there. Might save you problems on down the road. Drywall, being essentially paper over gypsum, is a b--tch to strip paint from without gouging it all up, then having to re-mud the gouges and sand it anyway. Time is money, at least in my world...K ;o)
Dry wall is paper I dont see how you could remove paint from it!

If you have mold you should have a vent to cut down on the dampness, I would suggest washing the walls with bleach and water ( bleach kills mould) then repainting with your good quality anti-mold primer.
